Medicare All of our Psychologists are Medicare Registered Providers. Medicare rebates are available for up to ten individual and ten group allied mental health services per calendar year to patients with an assessed mental disorder who are referred by a GP managing the patient under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan.
What is a Mental Health Care Plan? A Mental Health Care Plan is administered to a patient by their Doctor. The plan entitles you to 6 rebated sessions with a Psychologist, with an additional 4 rebated sessions (within a calendar year) available upon a Review from your GP, if you require. Please note that Mental Health Care Plans and Reviews cannot be extended by Good Counsel and you will need to make an appointment with your Doctor if you wish to obtain either.
Once these sessions have been completed you are still able to visit your psychologist; sessions will need to be paid for privately or alternatively you may come under a different referral system (listed below) or use your Private Health Insurance.
